Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities has proudly provided electricity to the residents of Rock Rapids since 1896. We offer our customers a diverse mix of renewable and fossil fuel power supply resources so we can provide reliable, affordable and environmentally friendly electric service. Our electricity source is a combination of Western Area Power Agency and Missouri River Energy Services.

Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities operates and maintains the water treatment plant and water transmission lines within the city limits. Property owners are responsible for maintaining water lines connecting their building to the curbstop, and we will maintain water lines leading up to the curbstop.


Please practice good stewardship by turning off the water while brushing your teeth or shaving, taking shorter showers, running your washing machine or dishwasher only when full, checking for leaky/dripping faucets, pipes or toilets.
